Mexico is a beautiful country with a very rich culture. Also the Tropic of Cancer divides the country meaning about half the country is in the tropical zone. This great news for you because a Mexico vacation can be a great way to experience a tropical vacation for much less money than a similar vacation overseas. A Mexican vacation can be much more diverse than vacations on small islands, which means more memories you will treasure for life. Mexico offers white sand beaches and all the tropical fun and sun that other destinations offer, plus amazing historical sites that will leave you in awe. You won't be finding any pyramids in the Bahamas'. That's right; a Mexico vacation can bring you from wild beach parties, to scuba diving with tropical fish to a 3,000 year old paradise all in the same trip. For many Cancun is a good enough reason for a Mexican vacation, as it is considered the party capital of North America. At Mexico's south eastern tip Cancun offers a wild party that never stops. Right next door to Cancun is the island of Cozumel lush island paradise that feels like a world of its own. Of all the beautiful spots in the world a Mexico vacation offers the most diverse experience. Another perk that can make a Mexico vacation your best choice is the exchange rate. As of July 17 2009 you can enjoy an exchange rate of 13.6 Pesos on the dollar, meaning your money will a lot farther.
During the Classical Period (300 – 900A.D.) When Attila the Hun was conquering Europe and the Roman Empire was crumbling, Mexico was undergoing a great change as well. The Mayans who's cultures roots trace back to 1500B.C. is considered the most intelligent Mesoamerican cultures. You can find one of Mexico's all inclusive resorts near Mayan structures that still stand to this day. This is quite a privilege to visit remnants of a culture that formed our modern calendar and the ominous 2012 theory that has become increasingly popular as we approach this mythical year. Later in the post classic period came another historically significant race. The Aztecs the self proclaimed chosen people of the sun which was believed to be the fifth after the others were destroyed. Also they felt they were the chosen peoples of the god of war Huitzilopochtli, and this showed in the sometimes brutal nature of their culture. The Aztecs migrated south from their original home indigenous until they came across a sign that had been foretold in their prophecies. This sign was the eagle eating a snake that adorns the Mexican flag to this day. When the Aztec people settled they acted as a mercenary army the Tepanecs of Azcapotzalco, but the Aztecs being a culture destined to lead destroyed the Tepanecs after 50 years and made the city the capitol of their widespread empire. This culture believed that in order for the sun to keep rising they needed to appease their war god with a steady supply of human hearts. Imagine 900 years of war to keep a steady supply of sacrifices. This spectacular culture lasted up until the Spanish arrival in which Cortes destroyed the Aztecs with superior weaponry. Grand and massive Aztec pyramids can still be found and visited on your vacation. Making Mexico an ideal place to have a wild time but also take in amazing historical art.
